Japanese automotive brand Nissan has registered four new Web3-related trademarks in the United States. The new filings cover the Infiniti, Nismo and Nissan brands, according to Nissan’s March 7 trademark filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Also, Nissan Motor and Nissan’s subsidiary Tokyo Sales have started test sales of cars on Metaverse.
In Metaverse, customers can consult with sales staff and test drive cars using their avatars. Residents of Tokyo can even sign sales contracts there. In order to enter the Nissan Hype Lab. virtual showroom, customers need to access the website using a computer or smartphone and select faces, silhouettes, and clothing for their avatars. The avatars are then free to move around and check out the interiors and exteriors of the cars.
The Japanese manufacturer is expected to bring clothing items, hats, trading cards, toys, tickets, and even virtual cars of its own production to the Metaverse market in the future. In addition, Nissan plans to launch an NFT platform for trading and minting NFT tokens. The patent application also indicated plans for the release of special cloud software, on the basis of which it will be possible to provide a digital wallet service.
